Quartz – strong, durable and
pleasingly effortless to care for.

Caring for your quartz

Quartz is durable and built to last, yet there are a few simple things to keep in mind to prevent damage to your work surfaces and ensure they remain in great condition.

Always use a cutting board

Although all quartz surfaces are scratch resistant, you should always avoid contact with a sharp object.

All cutting and food preparation should be done on a suitable board to protect the surface.

Use trivets and mats under hot pans

To protect your surfaces from damage from extreme heat impact, always use a trivet or mat under hot pans.

Avoid using abrasive pads and scourers

Since quartz is a sleek surface, using a soft cloth might not be enough to remove every spill.

If you are dealing with a dried-on build-up, you can remove it by carefully using a gentle scouring pad (non-scratch) to agitate the mess.

Avoid dropping objects on the surface

Be careful when carrying heavy objects near your surfaces.

Whilst quartz is a durable material, any sudden impact on the edges of the counters can cause chips or cracks.

Use a bleach-free degreasing cleaner

To eliminate grease, choose a degreasing cleaning spray that does not contain bleach.

Spray your quartz surface with your chosen cleaner, then simply wipe it away with a damp cloth. Follow this by wiping over the area with a mild soap and water mixture, then rinse.

Routine daily care

Whilst quartz is a non-porous material, care
should be taken to protect the polished surface
and keep your surfaces in top condition.
As a general rule, quartz surfaces should be
treated like any other worksurface.

For day-to-day cleaning, simply use a mild dish
washing liquid along with a soft dishcloth or
damp sponge. Once you’ve finished wiping the
surface down, rinse thoroughly, to avoid a
build-up of soap.

It is not advisable to use harsh chemical
cleaners on quartz surfaces. Some cleaners may
cause a reaction with the resins, which could
etch the surface.
